In the charming village of Olmi Cappela, at the heart of the Guissani, Maison les
Tilleuls is a substantial village house with garden and attractive roof terrace, ideal for couples and families
alike.
Unlike many villages, rather than one large village square, Olmi Cappella has a
number of little 'places' scattered through the village. Maison les Tilleuls sits at the edge of one of these attractive
squares, which in the evenings is bathed in warm mellow sunlight.
A few steps lead up from the square to the entrance where there are two terraces
either side of the steps - perfect for breakfast overlooking the square. From the entrance hall, doors lead off
to the living rooms on either side which run the full length of the house. To the left is the comfortable sitting
room with television and fireplace feature, whilst to the right is the well equipped open plan kitchen/dining room
with French doors leading to the roof terrace with lovely views over the surrounding mountains. The roof terrace
is furnished with a table and chairs and a barbecue, making it the ideal place to take breakfast on warm sunny
days, or eat al fresco in the evenings if you don't want to venture out to one of the restaurants in the village.
There are also loungers where you can make the most of the peace and quiet whilst you relax in the sun, and a barbecue.
The owner's mother can also offer extra cleaning if required (twice
a week at a cost of 40 euros payable locally). A DVD player with a wide range
of films in English and French has also been provided by the thoughful owners.
An attractive tile and wrought iron staircase leads up from the entrance hall to
the first floor where there are four bedrooms in all; two with double beds and two with twin beds. The house has
been decorated throughout with style and taste. There are also two shower rooms each with toilet, heating and heated
towel rails and both with beautiful Italian style showers. The house also has central heating, making it ideal
for those who may wish to visit out of season. The fifth bedroom is on the ground floor below the main living rooms
and boasts vaulted ceilings and its own ensuite shower room. This
room is only available if booked and paid in advance, so do please ask at the time of booking.
Unusually for a village house, Maison les Tilleuls also has a garden which is located
just opposite the house at the back (across a very quiet village road). The trees provide welcome shade during
the hot summer months, and there is always a quiet corner to relax and unwind. Kids will love the freedom to run
and play, whilst for mum and dad will surely appreciate the authentic village atmosphere and the reasonably priced,
spacious accommodation.
There is also a large one bedroom apartment below the house which can be let separately,
or together with the main house for a larger group. This apartment has it's own entrance, a large open plan living

Originally two villages - Olmi and Cappella - that have gradually grown together
over the years, Olmi Cappella is the perfect spot for those who want to explore and enjoy the best that Corsica
has to offer. The Guissani is an area rich in history and covered in chestnut trees and cork oaks. The surrounding
mountains offer opportunities for walking and bathing in rock pools whilst the nearest beach is only 30-40 minutes
drive away. The bustling seaside resorts of Calvi and Ile Rousse are less than an hour by car and the historic
centre of Corte and beautiful waterfalls of the Vizzavona forest are also within easy reach.
There are two restaurants and a 'table d'hote' within walking distance, as well
as a little village shop.
Linen is included in the price of the rental as well as a welcome gift
of local produce such as wine, cheese and charcuterie which the owners offer to all guests.
