The aptly named La Siesta sits in a calm and peaceful setting in the Regino valley, approximately 3km inland from Lozari Plage. The house is bordered by a large garden filled with flowers, and terraces with views over the surrounding mountains. The whitewashed walls add to the fresh feel of the house even in the height of summer, and there is air-conditioning in the living room should you feel the need. The main living room which has been comfortably furnished in a traditional style with sofas and a dining table and chairs, together with a fireplace feature. There is a large well equipped kitchen with full oven, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher, and even room for a table and chairs. Large French doors lead to the sizeable terrace with garden furniture which overlooks the pool (9m x 4.5m). There is a summer kitchen and barbecue - perfect for eating al fresco - and even a pizza oven should you want to try your hand! There is also an area of lawned garden on two sides of the house, and a further vine covered terrace on the third side. Two beautiful grey cats have made their home in the garden and will make friends with any children who lavish them with attention! There is a second house on the land which is sometimes occupied by a maximum of two people although they do not have access to the swimming pool, and the houses are not face to face. On the ground floor is a double bedroom with French doors to a small terrace area and views of the gardens towards the mountains, and two further bedrooms each with en-suite toilet. There are two bath/shower rooms and a separate toilet. Stairs from the living room lead up to a mezzanine with extra seating where people can read or relax. Beyond this is a further double bedroom which has been decorated in a more modern style and again enjoys lovely views of the countryside, making the upper level ideal for those travelling perhaps with grandparents or older teenagers who may enjoy a little bit of extra space away from the family rooms. There is also a single day bed in an alcove off the main living/dining room to allow for a ninth guest, or more flexible sleeping arrangements. La Siesta also offers free, unlimited WiFi access. Although the Regino valley seems to be very much the interior, it is still surprisingly close to the coast - just 3km from the superb sandy beach at Lozari. If you fancy an evening out, but don't want to venture too far, why not try the home cooking at Auberge de Tesa just a couple of minutes away. The local wines and olive oil are particularly good here and can be bought directly from the 'Domaines' where they are produced. 'Just returned from La Siesta, had a lovely week. Villa very peaceful in a tranquil setting. Birds singing all around. 3 miles up country lane from main road, so car essential. Villa very clean and the pool is one of the best we have seen. Owners very friendly alhtough can not speak english. Corsica was a lovely island and we wondered why we have taken so long to visit it. Villa spacious and fully equipped. We had a great holiday.'
