On a sun-drenched hillside, just a few minutes walk from the heart of the charming old village of Lumio, Nunziata is a superb modern villa, designed to offer elegant and contemporary accommodation.

The door opens onto a spacious hallway with steps leading down to the spacious open plan living room where there is a comfortable seating area with satellite television (some English channels), DVD player, music centre and telephone. Ornate pillars provide some interest as well as forming a natural division from the kitchen and dining area where there is a large table and chairs. The kitchen has been fully equipped to the highest standard with built in oven, ceramic hob and dishwasher as well as fridge-freezer and all the extras one would expect in a house of this quality such as microwave and cafetiere. Leading off the kitchen is a utility room with washing machine and dryer.

Decorated in an attractive combination of cool whites and subtle yellows, four sets of large sliding patio doors give access from the living room to the pool and main terrace, and afford stunning panoramic views over the bay. Also on this level is a superb double bedroom with ensuite shower room and toilet, and access to a small garden at the side of the house where there is a natural spring. There is also a separate toilet. On the upper level are three further spacious bedrooms, each with ziplock twin beds which can easily be converted into large doubles. Each of these rooms has their own en-suite shower room with toilet, and access to the shared terrace, where there is room to sit out and relax while you admire the view.

Outside, there is a freeform infinity pool overlooking the bay with loungers, a large teak table and chairs and barbecue - perfect for living al fresco. A large gazebo provides welcome shade from the heat of the mid-day sun. The house itself has a fresh, cool feel, but air-conditioning has been added throughout for the comfort of guests.

The Balagne is a very popular region where one can find everything from pretty little villages huddled together on the mountainside to bustling resorts with shops, restaurants and cafes aplenty. The beaches are simply stunning and again one has the choice of shallow gentle waters which are ideal for children, to picturesque rocky coves where you can nearly always find a quiet corner to relax undisturbed. The crafts trail offers the chance to see local artisans at work and there are a whole host of water sports and mountain activities on offer.

Linen is included in the price of the rental, and also cleaning twice a week.
