Our aim is to become THE Corsican website in the UK, where visitors can find everything connected with Corsica,
where we can propose places to stay, things to do, activities and so on. Unlike other portals, clients contacting
us can speak to someone who knows the island extremely well, and can give suggestions to suit their particular
needs. This gives them confidence that we can really help them get the most from their holiday. We also have partnership
agreements so that we can offer discounted flight seats and car hire.
The company is owned and run by Janet & Iain Rankin, founders of the English tour operator Corsican Places,
and Claire Hall who has worked with them for many years. Making use of their considerable knowledge and experience
of Corsica and its clientele, the company has gone from strength to strength, and we now receive nearly 3000 visitors
per month. We also advertise regularly in the main press and have a public relations company working on our behalf,

So how does it work?
Well, here at directCorsica we realise that not everyone is the same, so we offer a range of different options
to suit your requirements.
OPTION 1: Full booking service
Experience tells us that this is the best way to promote and advertise your property. We offer a reduced fee of
just 145 Euros (£100) + tva for 12 months subscription. This amount entitles you to a full page on our site
with up to 6 photos and a detailed description. A commission of 15% (including vat) is taken for each booking made.
In addition to the standard services included in the advertising subscription charge - see below - benefits of
our booking service also include;
- Active selling of your property to general enquirers by phone and email
- Payments handled by directCorsica - we collect payment from the client in sterling
and forward the nett amount to you in your preferred currency (sterling or euros)
- We act as a liaison between you and the clients from initial booking to arrival
information such as sending driving instructions, key collection information and any queries.
- Possibility of photographic services
For proprietors using our full booking service, the request is submitted to us by
email, phone or fax, and we then contact you to check the availability. Once you reply, we then contact the client
and explain the booking process. If client wants to go ahead, we send them payment information including current
rate of exchange to client and advise you by email. Once the deposit of 25% has been received, we send you the
written confirmation in the form of a bilingual form which must be signed and returned to us. This is then forwarded
to the client, and we deal with all booking administration such as balance reminders 6 weeks prior to arrival,
sending of property directions and key collection information.
OPTION 2: Limited booking service
This is particularly suited to proprietors who can accept payments by credit card such as residences, and who have
staff who speak English. We offer a reduced fee of just 100 Euros + tva for 12 months subscription. This amount
entitles you to a full page on our site with up to 6 photos and a detailed description. A commission of 12% (including
vat) is taken for each booking made. In addition to the standard services included in the advertising subscription
charge - see below - benefits of our booking service also include;
- Active selling of your property to general enquirers by phone and email
- Possibility of photographic services
For proprietors using our limited booking service, the request is submitted to us
by email, phone or fax, and we then contact you to check the availability. Once you reply, we then contact the
client and explain the booking process. If client wants to go ahead, we advise you by email and then you contact
the client direct to arrange payment etc. All subsequent administration such as balance reminders, sending of property
directions and key collection information will be undertaken by you.
OPTION3: Advertising subscription
This option is really only recommend this option for hotels or proprietors who speak fluent English and can accept
payments in sterling. We offer two options;

For proprietors using our standard advertising subscription service, the request is submitted to us by email, phone

Your prices
If you normally work with a tour operator, renting direct allows you to increase
the amount you would normally receive from the tour operator. It is worth considering that clients generally don't
like to pay lots of 'extras' such as linen hire or end of stay cleaning, so these costs should be included in the
advertised rental cost.
