Set in 2 hectares of tranquil woodland, Chalet San Petru is set in an elevated position on the Pratu woodland retreat, with glorious views of Mt St Petru and the surrounding countryside.
An unusual building of timber and stone construction with tiled floor, Chalet San Petru has managed to combine the rustic attraction of a woodland cabin, with the comfort and practical needs of a simple holiday home. The main living room (above left) has an attractive stone fireplace feature, dining table and chairs and a sofabed. French doors leading onto the covered terrace (above middle) where there is patio furniture and deckchairs where you can eat al fresco, or simply sit and enjoy the views. To one side is the double bedroom (above right), and to the other, a narrow kitchen, shower room and toilet, and the second bedroom with twin beds. The kitchen comprises dishwasher, gas hob, electric mini-oven and use of washing machine, . Taller guests should note that the pent roof construction slightly restricts the headspace at the very rear of the building. Furnishings are simple but include everything required for a self-catering holiday in a rural location. Linen and towels are provided, however we do ask guests to bring their own beach towels.Outside, there is a brick built barbecue and garden area with tree swing and room to park your car. Chalet San Petru has a 2** French Tourist Office rating.
An ideal base for exploring this beautiful area of southern Corsica, Pratu is just 10 minutes from river rock-pools where you can bathe, and less than half an hour from the soaring mountains of the Alta Rocca, and fabulous sandy beaches of the Valinco Gulf. The small village of Petreto Bicchisano, with its shops, bars and restaurants, is a couple of minutes drive away.

Pratu woodland cabins - 2 bedrooms, Sleeps 4 people
Pratu also boasts two woodland cabins, in a secluded area near the stream. These simple cabins each have a little veranda where there is a summer kitchen with fridge, and a table and chairs where you can eat. A sliding door leads to the main cabin where there is a double bedroom, a second bedroom with bunk beds, a shower with toilet and a storage area.
Ideal for those who enjoy the great outdoors, and are perhaps used to camping and want to try something a little different. There are 5 acres of idyllic woodland and pasture to explore, and if you just want to relax and take it easy, both properties have shared use of a small swimming pool.
