With breath-taking views over Ile Rousse, A Pinarella stands on a crest
above the village of Monticello, on one of the most magnificent sites in the Balagne. The house blends seamlessly
with its surroundings whilst offering a high level of comfort.
The entrance hall leads on to the smart modern kitchen which is equipped to the standard one would expect for a
house of this quality. The sizeable open plan living room has a traditional stone fireplace and is separated from
the dining area by huge, comfortable sofas. On the ground floor are two bedrooms, one double and one twin each
with access to the long covered terrace that runs the length of the house. There is a bathroom with toilet and
shower cubicle, and a separate toilet. Stairs lead to the first floor where there is a superb master suite with
terraces both sides, a further twin bedroom with access to the terrace, another bathroom with bath, shower and
a separate toilet.
The rooms are large and airy with big picture windows and French doors to take advantage of its exceptional position.
Each of the main rooms has access to a terrace, all of which have been designed to offer shade during the hot summer
months. Downstairs, there is also a sizable independent studio which is also available for larger parties, or those
needing extra space or privacy. This is only available if booked and paid in advance, so do please ask for details.
A Pinarella is surrounded by a huge natural garden filled with flowers, the citrus, pine, and olive trees and massive
sculptural boulders adding character and privacy. The splendid 12m x 6m pool with its wide steps is set below the
house, and adds the final touch to this perfect holiday home.
Below the house lies the village Monticello, one of Corsica's charming old villages which is overlooked by the
13th Century Castel d'Otica, and set inland from the town of Ile Rousse. It is rumoured to be the birthplace of
Christopher Columbus' mysterious mother Susanna Fontanarossa. The pretty village square is surrounded by ancient
stone streets and olive groves, and it exudes an air of faded grandeur. Nearby, the modern sports complex offers
the more active the chance to try their hand at tennis and other sports and there are many bridleways for riding
and walking.
Linen, cleaning & heating (if applicable) are included in the price
of the rental.

Comments from previous guests...
'Fantastic - My wife and I had the place to ourselves and couldn't
beleive how beautiful the villa and gardens were, not to mention the views. We took the owner's advise and watched
the sun rise on more than one occasion. The Pool was great for relaxing and for exercise. The locals were very
friendly and the hotel in Montincellu provided us with an excellent meal on our first night. Also a great base
to explore the surrounding Balagne countryside and further afield (although the roads were a bit 'hairy' at times
such as the road from Corte to Porto or from the mountains down to Speloncato). Definitely want to go back with
the family next year!! PS. The circular routes were less hairy if you go clockwise!'
'The only problem was that we had difficulty in dragging ourselves
away from such beautiful surroundings, the view, the pool, the garden and your own natural sculpture park'
'If you want to sell may we have first refusal?'
