Surely one of Corsica's most popular and chic destinations, Porto Vecchio really does have it all; beaches that could rival the Caribbean, a cosmopolitan lifestyle and smart luxury villas tucked away amongst the perfumed maquis. Villa Tamarriciu is part of a small gated community close to the fabulous Palombaggia beach. A chic villa, which exudes style and taste, Tamarriciu has been designed by the owners and is indeed one of our most luxurious villas. Tastefully furnished with great attention to detail, it is extremely comfortable, well equipped and air-conditioned. A flowered pathway lined with unusual totems leads up to the main entrance which is at the rear of the house and opens onto the large open plan living/dining room which has been comfortably furnished with comfortable sofas, large television and home cinema. The dining area offers a large table and chairs and a fully fitted modern kitchen with all the appliances one would expect such as full oven, microwave and dishwasher as well as a whole host of gadgets such as a large ceramic hob with extractor that retracts into the counter. Leading off the kitchen is a utility area with washing machine, tumble dryer and a large fridge freezer. Both the living room and dining area boast extra large sliding patio doors giving onto the main terrace which retract back into the wall which gives the house a spacious, open feeling. There are two bedrooms on this level, both with access to the terrace. Each has a double bed and a private shower room with double washbasin and toilet. The terrace runs the full length of the house, with comfortable conversational seating and loungers at one end, and a table and chairs plus electric barbecue at the other so that you can take full advantage of the superb views whilst eating al fresco. The huge infinity pool has roman steps and an unusual bench feature built in so that guests can sit in the pool and look out over the bay below. Like many houses in Corsica, Villa Tamarriciu is built on sloping ground, so steps lead down from the main level to the lower ground floor where there are four extra bedrooms along with a large family bathroom and guest toilet. Two of the bedrooms on this level have double beds and French doors leading the lower terrace and garden area. The third bedroom has a double bedroom and ensuite bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and double washbasin as well as French windows with access to the lower terrace and garden area. The fourth bedroom is a huge 'dortoir' designed for children and teenagers. This room has two sets of unusual built-in bunk beds and two further single beds, making it suitable for up to six children. The dortoir has been equipped with a television and stereo system. For your added comfort linen is included as well as a mid-week clean, providing the ideal opportunity to relax and unwind. The perfect combination of French and Italian influence, Porto Vecchio is perhaps one of the best known areas of Corsica.
The historic old town comprises a main square surrounded by a tangle of picturesque back streets where you can find boutiques, restaurants and cafés shaded by ancient trees. During the summer, the town has a vibrant ambiance, and the marina is the perfect place to enjoy an apéritif whilst admiring the huge yachts of the jetset. At Palmobaggio beach, just a few minutes from the villa, a sweep of white sand and crystal clear turquoise-blue waters are backed by pines and red-hued rocks, whilst the sheltered, shallow waters of the beach at Santa Giulia are perfect for children. The Alta Rocca is home to some of Corsica's most breathtaking mountain beauty spots, and here one can indulge in a variety of mountain activities such as walking, hiking and horseriding, or maybe explore on a quadbike! The l'Ospedale forest just above Porto Vecchio is another beauty spot to be missed, whilst down by the coast, water sports such as windsurfing, boat hire, jet ski and diving are in abundance.
