With a small private pool, shady terrace and peaceful ambiance, it is
hard to imagine that A Casa Petra is just a few hundred metres from the heart of the medieval town of Porto Vecchio
with its chic boutiques, lively bars and restaurants, and fashionable yachting marina.
Quite unique, A Casa Petra is situated on the ground floor of a newly renovated stone building, and is the perfect
base from which to explore this beautiful region, or to simply relax by the pool and top up your tan. The main
door opens onto the hallway, off which are the bedrooms. To the left, there are two twin bedrooms and a double
bedroom, and to the right is the master suite with double bed, ensuite shower room and toilet, and a separate dressing
area. There is also a family bathroom and toilet.
At the end of the hallway, a few steps lead down to the open plan living
room which is light and airy with large sliding patio doors to the terrace. The fully fitted American style kitchen
has been fully equipped with oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge-freezer as well as the usual kitchen appliances
such as kettle, toaster and cafetiere, and a table and chairs should you prefer not to eat on the terrace.
Outside, the large decked terrace is part covered offering dappled sunlight
whilst providing privacy and welcome shade from the heat of the day. The terrace has been furnished with a table
and chairs as well as comfortable garden sofa where you can relax with a glass of wine before venturing out in
the evenings, or watch over the children if they are using the pool.
A few steps lead down to the lower terrace area where we find the private
pool/spa which is the crowning glory of A Casa Petra. The size of a small pool, contra current jets have been added
for those who may wish to indulge in a little gentle exercise, or maybe just to amuse the children! Potted plants
adorn the decking making this a lovely space to while away the hours. Below the property is a garage which is a
real bonus in the busy summer months when parking is at a premium.
For your added comfort linen is included
as well as a mid-week clean, providing the ideal opportunity to relax and unwind.
During the summer, the streets of the old town come alive with music
and entertainment - just part of the reason Porto Vecchio is such a popular choice for holidaymakers. Life in the
town centres around the main square which is lined with pretty cafés and restaurants, and surrounded by
cobbled streets where one can find a range of boutiques and shops. The nightlife is lively, but not overpowering,
and you can always escape to the peaceful haven of A Casa Petra when you need a change of pace.
Of course the laid back lifestyle is only part of the story, and the
beaches of Porto Vecchio are perhaps some of the best known on the island. Visit Palombaggia where the pale golden
sand provides a delightful contrast to the red hue of the rocks, the turquoise blue of the sea and the greens and
gold of the maquis covered hillside or the sheltered, shallow waters of the beach at Santa Giulia which are perfect
for children.
Should you ever tire of the beaches and water sports, the mountainous
landscape of the Alta Rocca boasts some of the most interesting scenery to explore, with craggy mountain peaks,
huge parasol pines and tranquil lakes, what more could you want!
Linen is provided as shown below. The cleaning and linen charge is obligatory.
