	In a peaceful setting midway between the bustling waterfront town of Calvi with its shallow sandy beach, and the charming village of Calenzana stands the Hotel Cesario. With views over the surrounding mountains and some with views of the sea and citadel, the hotel has been recently renovated to offer simple but elegant rooms, each individually decorated and some with private terrace overlooking the pool.
Surrounded by terraces and loungers is the large pool which is situated approximately 100m from the apartments. There is also a terrace in front of the main building with tables and chairs where one can enjoy refreshments from the bar or maybe breakfast which is offered at a small extra charge. Within the grounds there is also a tennis court and plenty of rooms for the little ones to run and play. There are several different sized apartments here; STUDIOS - sleeps 2 people Each studio has a terrace area at the front with a table and chairs - ideal for enjoying an aperitif before venturing out to eat in the evening. The main room comprises a double sofabed and kitchen corner with mini-oven, two hob rings and a fridge with ice box. There is a separate shower room and toilet. Studios have a television but no air conditioning. T2 (1 bedroom apartment) - sleeps 2-4 people. Access is via the terrace or loggia which has been equipped with garden furniture. There is a separate bedroom with twin beds and a double sofabed in the main living room where there is also a dining table and chairs for four people and a kitchen corner with mini-oven, two hob rings and a fridge with ice box. There is a separate shower room and toilet. All apartments have a television, and 'CLIM' apartments also have air conditioning. T3 (2 bedroom apartment) - sleeps 2-6 people Comprising two bedrooms; one with double bed and one with twin beds, these apartments boast either two terraces or a terrace and balcony with access from the main living room and also one of the bedrooms. The main terrace is equipped with a table and chairs large enough for 6 people, so you can take advantage of the peaceful setting and eat al fresco if you don't want to venture into Calvi or Calenzana. There is a double sofabed in the main living room where there is also a dining table and chairs, and a kitchen corner with mini-oven, two hob rings and a fridge with ice box. There is a separate shower room and toilet. All apartments have a television, and 'CLIM' apartments also have air conditioning. There are a couple that have disabled access with no steps and wider corridors and doorways. Calvi is very popular with families and couples alike and Le Padro - just a few minutes drive away - offers an inexpensive base from which to explore this bustling resort and also the villages of the Balagne. The beach at Calvi stretches for more than 5km and is particularly popular with families with young children as the waters are warm and shallow. Adults will love the quaint cobbled streets and good choice of restaurants and boutiques lining the port and the streets nearby. By contrast, Calenzana is one of the largest villages in the Balagne and here you will find a way of life that is truly Corsican. Enjoy a coffee at the little bar on the village square or try one of the tasty doughnuts from the bakers while you contemplate the activities for the day! Le Padro is particularly suited to families looking for pleasant, affordable accommodation close to all the amenities of this popular area. 'I thought I would drop you a line to say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Corsica and that the Le Padro accomodation was excellent - with lovely views. We noted your advice about essential car hire at such an out of the way spot but we did not wish to drive and so we took a chance on public transport. We were able to locate the coastal train route station of "Dolce Vita " which was a 25 minute stroll down to in the mornings and a 30 minute stroll back up in the evenings and this made our holiday just perfect.' We have just returned from our holiday in Corsica. Both weeks were fantastic and we really enjoysd staying in both these properties. Le Padro was excellently situated,we enjoyed the peace and quiet after busy days sightseeing.The apartment had fabulous views over the maquis towards Calvi and the citadel.We could sit on our terrace and watch Hoopoes,Bee eaters, and red kites, yet we were only 5 min away from Calvi by car.The owners were friendly and welcoming, every morning they would ensure we had fresh baguettes and croissants. The children loved the pools and made good use of the tennis court and mini golf.It was certainly an excellent introduction to Corsica. Our second week in the mountain village of Lama was a good contrast. The property was very comfortable and again the owner went out of her way to welcome us.The property was very authentic and we enjoyed some excellent walks from the village.Highlights of the trip must include swimming in the gorges near Calacuccia and the wonderful views from the Foret du Bonifatio outside Calvi.An excellent holiday and we appreciated all your advice.
