	In a peaceful setting midway between the bustling waterfront town of Calvi with its shallow sandy beach, and the charming village of Calenzana stands the Hotel Cesario. With views over the surrounding mountains and some with views of the sea and citadel, the hotel has been recently renovated to offer simple but elegant rooms, each individually decorated and some with private terrace overlooking the pool.
Surrounded by terraces and loungers is the large pool. There is also a terrace in front of the hotel with tables and chairs where one can enjoy refreshments from the bar or maybe breakfast. Within the grounds there is also a tennis court and min-golf as well as a bar with wireless internet (offered free) for those who can't drag themselves away. There are several different types of rooms here; COMFORT ROOMS These rooms have been recently renovated to a high standard. Simply yet elegantly furnished, the warm accent colours blend harmoniously with the mellow cream and fresh whites of the walls. Each room has a double or twin beds, and a bathroom with toilet (most have corner bath with shower attachment over). Some of the rooms have a good sized terrace with views over the pool to the bay of Calvi beyond. STANDARD ROOMS The standard rooms are a good size and have been decorated in warm mediterranean shades. Guests can request either double or twin beds, and most rooms have baths with a shower attachment over, but there are one or two with shower cubicles, so please tell us at the time of booking if you have a preference. Some of the rooms have a terrace with views either over the grounds or the pool. For those who prefer half board, this can be arranged with the nearby Auberge du Maquis. In summer you can enjoy the shady and flowered terrace and the swimming-pool surrounded by a gorgeous natural garden, whilst at other times you will appreciate its specialties, according to Corsican tradition, in a warm and elegant atmosphere. The wine cellar offers a wide choice of local wine and champagne. The Auberge du Maquis offers the most traditional recipes of Corsican cuisine, and the warm welcome of Jacques and Béatrice is also very typical. The menus are carefully studied by the owner, Jacques Agostini, who can choose the best local products, thans to his years of experience. Local pepperoni, salami, ham and cheese dishes, with fig jam, and the home made cakes complete the meals comprising meats, pasta and vegetables - the basic ingredients of the local cuisine. Calvi is very popular with families and couples alike and the Hotel Cesario - just a few minutes drive away - offers an inexpensive base from with to explore this bustling resort and also the villages of the Balagne. The beach at Calvi stretched for more than 5km and is particularly popular with families with young children as the waters are warm and shallow. Adults will love the quaint cobbled streets and good choice of restaurants and boutiques lining the port and the streets nearby. By contrast, Calenzana is one of the largest villages in the Balagne and here you will find a way of life that is truly Corsican. Enjoy a coffee at the little bar on the village square or try one of the tasty doughnuts from the bakers while you contemplate the activities for the day! Pool ..........................
