The Mimosa Villas comprise two apartments and a studio which have been
sympathetically converted from an old granite farmhouse in the rural Regino Valley. Sitting on the edge of the
village, the properties occupy a superb position between the mountains and the coast, and enjoy lovely uninterrupted
views across the open countryside to the ancient hilltop villages in the distance.
The accommodation is simple, but the rooms are generously proportioned and retain the charm of a traditional Corsican
house. Each apartment has its own entrance and independent terrace where one can relax and enjoy the mature shady
garden, full of wild flowers and fragrant oleander whilst the children delight in seeing the sheep and cows that
graze in neighbouring fields.
There is a large 11m x 5m swimming pool, which is shared if the apartments
are let separately, with shallow steps where children can play. Let together, the property is an attractively priced
5 bedroom villa with private pool.
Inside, each of the apartments is laid out differently;
Villa Mimosa - 2 bedrooms, sleeps 6 people
The main entrance leads to the well equipped kitchen and then on to a spacious living room with two single divan
day beds and French doors to the terrace. There is one double bedroom which also has access to the terrace, and
a separate twin bedroom. The apartment has a bathroom with toilet.
Casa Mimosa - 2 bedrooms, sleeps 6 people
The apartment opens on to the large open plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen area, dining table and
two single divan day beds. From this main room, there are French doors to the terrace and a open staircase to the
second floor where there is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a shower room and a separate toilet.
Studio Mimosa - studio, sleeps 2 people
Access from the terrace leads to the attractive main living room where there is a simple kitchenette and two full
size single divan day beds. There is a separate shower room and toilet.
Although the Regino valley seems to be very much the interior, it is still surprisingly close to the coast - just
6km from the superb sandy beach at Lozari. The valley is an important agricultural area, and remains one of the
undiscovered and relatively untouched regions of Corsica. The local wines and olive oil are particularly good here
and can be bought directly from the 'Domaines' where they are produced. You will pass signs on the way to the property
- look out for 'degustation' which will allow you to try before you buy!
There is very little commercial activity in the village itself with the exception of Bar/Restaurant. The bar is
open all year round, but food is served only during July and August so if you want to try the local specialities
it's best to order the day before.
Linen is included in the price of the rental.
