On a quiet, sunny hillside just above the ramshackle little port
of Propriano, Les Lentisques is a lovely new 3 bedroom house with private gardens and shared pool.
Within the grounds of a small family run residence, this house offers the best of both worlds. Adults will love
the feel of a private villa, and their own garden in which to relax and perhaps enjoy an aperitif before wandering
down to the port for a bite to eat, whilst the kids will welcome the chance to make friends at the large shared
pool, and the thoughtful owners have even provided swings and a table tennis table in the communal gardens to help
keep them amused!
The house has a private entrance with plants lining the path that leads through the garden area to the front door.
The front door opens onto the hallway off which is a bedroom with a large double bed with zip-lock mattress that
can be converted into twin beds and views out to the front garden, and a spacious bathroom with shower attachment,
toilet and washbasin. Glass panelled doors lead on to the open plan living/dining area which has been furnished
with comfortable seating and a sofabed, satellite television (some English channels), DVD player and a dining table
and chairs, and access to the main terrace and garden via sliding patio doors. An archway leads to the spacious
modern kitchen which has been fully equipped with all the facilities one would expect of a house of this quality;
large fridge-freezer, full oven and microwave, hob and integrated washing machine and dishwasher. From here there
is a further door leading to the covered terrace to the side of the house.
From the living area six steps lead up to a spacious bedroom with large double bed with zip-lock mattress that
can be converted into twin beds, plus an additional single bed. There is a large picture window and a porthole
feature, both with views across fields to the sea. From this bedroom a door leads to a chambrette (a smallish bedroom)
with a window and a single bed, which in turn leads to the second bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin.
For those who wish to visit early or late in the season, there is also central heating for the added comfort of
guests.
Charles has spent many happy hours choosing the plants for the garden, all of which are indigenous to the island
and have been chosen for their scent which perfumes the air in the early evenings. The house itself takes its name
from the tree in the garden which provides a lovely shady area should you wish to escape the sun, and the terraces
have also been constructed to provide areas of both sun and shade. The pool area and surrounding gardens are bursting
with colourful flowers all through the summer, and you can help yourself to cooking herbs!
The main town of Propriano is just a short stroll away (although it is uphill on the way back!), and there you
will find a many good restaurants and lots of interesting boutiques. You can walk to several good beaches from
the residence or you may try further afield, whichever way you wont be disappointed. In the area you can also enjoy
all the usual water sports, bathe in river rock pools or relax in the hot springs of Baracci, play tennis, go walking,
horse-riding, diving, climbing, or take a train or boat trip. The more adventurous can try a tandem u.l.m., canyoning,
parachuting, climbing or jetskiing.
The friendly owners will do their best to help you get the most from your holiday in Corsica, so besides all the
usual holiday home equipment you will find parasols and isothermal picnic boxes to take out with you. There is
also a collection of guide books, maps and information at your disposal.
Winter Holidays
- Les Lentisques has central heating making it an ideal choice for winter holidays or even longer lets (special
prices are available), so please ask for details.
Please note that the pool is only guaranteed to be clean and open
from the first Sunday in May until the last Sunday in October, although in reality it is often open earlier/later
depending on the number of guests and the weather.
Linen and cleaning is included in the price of the rental.
