Villa Lorenzoni is a comfortable family house, in a quiet residential
area, yet still just a few minutes away from the shallow sandy beach and bustling resort of Calvi. Well equipped
and traditionally furnished by the English owner, the ground floor comprises kitchen with full cooker, fridge-freezer,
microwave, mini-oven, washing machine and dishwasher, one double bedroom and one twin bedroom, the large family
shower room with toilet and a further separate toilet.
There is also a spacious living/dining room with comfortable seating,
television, music system and a dining area. French doors from this room lead to the covered terrace with patio
furniture - ideal for eating al fresco.
A spiral staircase leads to the main bedroom where there is a further seating area, and French doors to a lovely
terrace with views over the surrounding countryside to the Citadel beyond. A small door leads through from this
bedroom to the simple fourth bedroom where there are two single beds. Low head height in this room makes it suited
to children.
Heating means that the house is equally suitable for out of season lets.
To the side of the house is a typically Corsican style garden planted with fruit trees - help yourself! There are
even swings to help keep the little ones amused. The large pool has now been enclosed for greater safety, and is
situated behind the house. There is also summer pool house and outside shower and toilet which guests are welcome
to use.
On of the biggest attractions is the huge sweep of fine golden sand that
stretches round the bay for more than 5km. The shallow waters here are particularly suited to families with small
children who can paddle happily at the waters edge. For adults and older children, there is a wide variety of water
sports including windsurfing, sailing and kite surfing as well as the possibility to hire jet-skis and boats. A
band of parasol pines known as the pinede provide the picturesque backdrop, and if you wander through you will
find public tennis courts and the 'via ferrata' - a network of pathways suspended between the trees. If you want
to take a break from driving, the trinicellu (little train) runs along the coast stopping off at villages and beaches
along the way or you can take advantage of one of the many coach excusions or boat trips on offer.
The impressive 15th century Genoese Citadel dominates the the narrow
cobbled streets of the town with their array of boutiques, and the port lined with palm trees and a variety of
colourful cafes and restaurants to suit every taste and budget. Here one can truly appreciate the mix of French
and Italian influences that make this island so unique.
Linen is included in the price of the rental.

Comments from previous guests...
'This has been a memorable and peaceful fortnight in a gorgeous
place - our honeymoon (or 'babymoon', since travelling with out 2½ year old daughter). We've fallen in love
with Corsica and especially Calvi - the perfect beach for many hapy hours paddling with a toddler, burying each
other in holes and getting covered in sand and ice cream. The villa has been a real retreat - Rowan has loved picking
figs and apples, using the swing, terrorising Toffee the cat and generally behaving like she owns the place. The
space is certainly welcome after our small London patio. Thanks so much Pat for your generosity and advice, &
sharing your granddaughter's toys to make our stay more comfortable. We particularly enjoyed a trip to Pigna on
a windy day to buy a musicbox, discovering the chilled and friendly Mara Beach (on the way to the lighthouse) and
just generally basking in the Corsican ambience/Sun!! All in all, a great start to married life. Thanks!'
'Villa and facilities were excellent. Kids had great time in
the pool and the garden and dad enjoyed the the barbecuing. We enjoyed Bodri plage, Fangu Valley for rock pools,
cycling to Montegrosso and Che Maria restaurant near the beach in Calvi. We'll definitely come back to Corsica
very soon.'
We have had a fantastic first visit to Corsica. The weather has
been fabulous and the villa and pool just right. We particularly enjoyed enjoyed picking the grapes on the way
up for a swim. The bread man arriving at breakfast time (8:45/8:50am) each day was a bonus!! We enjoyed Calvi beach,
Bodri beach and Algajola (shelves steeply but sand less sticky!!) and a good lunch at Algajola at Calvi end. All
in all we have had a very memorable holiday. Many thanks.'
'Great week, great host and the villa lovey aspect. Hope to be
back next year.'
'Hello! Thankyou so much for the villa and pool facilities! This
is a wonderful villa with a fantastic view of Calvi. The Pool was heavenly and a delight to have! You have been
most kind a helpful and have made our stay extra special! The fruit and veg from the garden was so tasty! Mmmmm!
This has definitely been a stay full of wonderful memories! And we look forward to making new ones when we come
back next year! Thanks again.'
'The villa has been perfect - spacious and comfortable, with
great terraces and views, we've loved swimming in the pool everyday. A great thank you to Pat and Jean for making
us so welcomed - and looking after us so well. Thank you for letting us feast on figs, grapes, tomatoes and apples
from the orchard!'
'Just a belated note to let you know how much we enjoyed our
week in Corsica and our time at the villa.
Upon our arrival we were provided with bread, cheese, homegrown tomatoes, milk, wine, tea and coffee! The Lorenzoni
family are so kind that it feels like you are going to stay with family. The whole holiday package worked out smoothly
which is a credit to your Company. We will be recommending you to everyone even if they think Corsica isn't for
them!'
