With perhaps one of the best panoramic views over the city of Porto Vecchio and the sea beyond, La Galerie is a chic modern apartment in a quiet location just a few minutes walk from the centre of town.

La Galerie is ideal for those looking for a comfortable base from which to explore this beautiful town. Situated on the third floor of a newly renovated stone building, the door opens onto the hallway with a few steps up to the main living area. There is a large open plan living room with sliding patio doors to the balcony, and superb views over the town and the sea. The well equipped american style kitchen has been fully equipped with oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge-freezer as well as the usual kitchen appliances such as kettle, toaster and cafetiere, and a wide breafast bar should you prefer not to eat on the covered balcony.

There are two bedrooms; one with double bed and the other with twin beds, which each benefit from their own en-suite shower and washbasin. There is a separate toilet and storage cupboard where the washing machine can be found. The balcony offers a garden sofa as well as a table and stools where one can eat al fresco and enjoy views over sea to one side and the church and red tiled rooves of the town in relative privacy. At sunset the ancient buildings take on a mellow ochre hue which contrasts delightfully with the blue of the Mediterranean and the stark white of the sailing boats in the harbour. There is also a garage for your convenience.

Porto Vecchio is a town that is appreciated equally for its cosmopolitan nightlife, and its wealth of daytime distractions from the stunning beaches and ancient walled town, to the sophisticated boutiques and water front restaurants.

One of the main attractions of the region is surely its beaches. Palombaggia, perhaps the best known, is just a short distance from the town, and here one finds pale golden sand and clear turquoise blue waters edged with red-hued rocks and backed with pine trees - stunning. Santa Giulia beach, a little further south, surely rivals those of the Caribbean. The shallow waters are ideal for children whilst the adults will love the array of water sports on offer.

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle, head up into the Alta Rocca where you can find some of the most breath-taking and dramatic mountain scenes on the island. The Col de Bavella in particular is not to be missed.
