Nestled in a large garden planted with figs, plums, apples and pears, stands the beautiful 19th Century Maison Filippi. Renovated to a high standard over recent years, the house has been in the Filippi family for generations, and is a very good example of a typical Corsican family home.

The door opens onto the spacious and airy living room with fireplace feature and comfortable seating. From here, an internal step leads up to the dining area and then the modern kitchen which has been fully equipped with cooker, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and washing machine. From here there is access to the parking area. On the ground floor there is also a family bathroom with toilet. Open plan stairs from the living room lead up to the first floor where there is a double bedroom off which there is a further bedroom with twin beds and cot, and a bunk-bedded room which leads to a spacious bedroom with a double bed and an extra single bed. There is a shower room with toilet. Air conditioning adds the finishing touch to this lovely family home.

Outside is a large terrace shaded by ancient palm trees. The views from here are lovely, and there is nothing better than watching the sun set over the surrounding countryside whilst sipping a glass of the delicious local Muscat, as generations of Corsicans have done before. Beyond the terrace is the garden where the superb swimming pool is surrounded by flowers and fruit trees. The pool is shared with Chez Marie-Claire, the one bedroom apartment next door. These properties taken together are ideal for a larger party.

The village of Barbaggio is situated just 3km from Patrimonio, often referred to as the wine-growing capital of Corsica, it is famous for the excellent AOC wines produced here, notably the rosés, whites and the excellet Muscat. The dozens of vineyards where you can try the various wines are now linked by the Route des Vins, which is signposted throughout the region. The Nebbiu has much to offer visitors, from beautiful scenery, to Pisan churches and prehistoric remains, and of course the bustling little port of Saint Florent where it is
de rigueur to stroll along the marina admiring the yachts of the rich and famous.
