For those who are looking for a peaceful location with stunning uninterrupted
sea views whilst still within easy reach of shops and restaurants and the huge sandy beach of Calvi Bay, it is
hard to imagine a better choice than the Hotel le Saint Erasme in Calvi.
Seemingly suspended between sea and sky, each of the rooms is air conditioned,
so you can be sure of a good nights sleep after a day exploring the beautiful hilltop villages or perhaps soaking
up the sun on the magnificent sweep of golden sand that stretches for more than 5km. The hotel also boasts a large
pool which has is fully enclosed for child safety, and shady breakfast terrace overlooking the sea with views towards
the Revellata Peninsula.
There is a choice of standard, superior and family rooms with a choice
of views. All the rooms have a double or twin beds, bath or shower and toilet and a hairdryer for the convenience
of guests. The family rooms are particularly popular and can comfortably accommodate a family of four. The sea
view rooms are also popular and benefit from large picture windows to make the most of the lovely views. Each of
the rooms has a slightly different layout lending them a feeling of individuality, and there are also two self
catering apartments located in a separate building in the hotel grounds - click HERE for details.
*** FAMILY FAVOURITE ***
This hotel is particularly family friendly and can offer several
optional extras to help your holiday get off to a smooth start. These include pre-bookable taxi transfers from
Calvi airport to the hotel (payable direct) so that you don't have to worry about finding your own way on arrival,
and a baby pack for those travelling with small children. This includes a pack of nappies, baby wipes, and baby
food (contents vary according to the age of your baby), and is just enough to get you started until you get your
bearings. There is also a microwave available for the use of guests to warm bottles and baby food - simply ask
at reception. The family rooms/suites are spacious and are actually two rooms linked by an archway, so they do
feel more separate than standard family rooms. Again, these rooms do vary slightly in layout adding an individual
feel, and the location means that it's easy to walk into town and to the beach without having to rely on car hire.
Babysitting can also be arranged at reception should you wish but please do give as much notice as possible!
There is so much to see and do in Calvi and the surrounding areas, that
many visitors tell us that a week is simply not long enough! From here one can really experience the diversity
of the island, from the narrow cobbled street with their array of boutiques, to the imposing 15th centuring Genoese
citadel that dominates the town and the port. The magnificent sandy beach with its wide range of water sports and
beachside cafes is an obvious attraction, but be sure to take time to discover the towns and villages nearby either
by car or using the little train that runs along the coast - an experience in itself! The narrow streets behind
the port are home to a variety of interesting boutiques and excellent restaurants, and the bars lining the port
are the perfect place to enjoy an aperitif before dinner whilst you listen to the sound of the water gently lapping
the yachts moored in the marina.
For the more active, there are also plenty of activies on offer in the
area such as water skiing, sailing, windsurfing, horse riding, walking, diving, and a good choice of bus and boat
excursions.
