For those who are looking for a peaceful location with stunning uninterrupted sea views whilst still within easy reach of shops and restaurants and the huge sandy beach of Calvi Bay, it is hard to imagine a better choice than the Hotel le Saint Erasme in Calvi. From here one can really experience the diversity of the island, from the narrow cobbled street with their array of boutiques, to the imposing 15th centuring Genoese citadel that dominates the town and the port. The magnificent sandy beach with its wide range of water sports and beachside cafes is an obvious attraction, but be sure to take time to discover the towns and villages nearby either by car or using the little train that runs along the coast - an experience in itself! The narrow streets behind the port are home to a variety of interesting boutiques and excellent restaurants, and the bars lining the port are the perfect place to enjoy an aperitif before dinner whilst you listen to the sound of the water gently lapping the yachts moored in the marina. For the more active, there are also plenty of activies on offer in the area such as water skiing, sailing, windsurfing, horse riding, walking, diving, and a good choice of bus and boat excursions.
