Perfectly situated along the banks of the river at the heart of the beautiful Restonica Valley, the Hotel Dominique Colonna is a haven of peace and tranquility, surrounded by verdant forests of Laricio pines. There are numerous walking trails that start nearby as well as public tennis courts and horse-riding excursions within just a short drive, but what could be more relaxing that sitting on your balcony or by the pool, listening to the water gently washing over the river bed whilst the scent of pine trees fills the air. Opposite the hotel is the Auberge de la Restonica, which has been in the Colonna family for generations. The auberge's restaurant features in numerous guides, and has an enviable reputation for authentic local cuisine and regional specialities such as trout from the river baked with fennel and free-range veal with olives. The ancient capital of Corte is just a few minutes drive and here you will find a variety of shops, restaurants and cafes as well as the fascinating Musee de la Corse located within the walls of the old citadel. The 'trinicellu' (little train) stops in Corte and a ride on the narrow gauge railway through the peaks and gorges of the Vizzavona Forest is something not to be missed.
