Our collection of Citadel apartments are situated close to the famous
Chez Tao, a popular piano bar and restaurant, and the Cathedral Saint Jean Baptiste which stands at the highest
point of the Citadel. From here one can enjoy some of the best views over the Gulf of Calvi, whilst still just
a few minutes' stroll from the bustling town below and the fabulous shallow sandy beach that stretches for over
5km.
APARTMENT CHIARA
- 1 bedroom, sleeps 2 people
The most recent addition to our collection of apartments in this historic
old building at the heart of the Citadel, Apartment Chiara, offers a lovely combination of chic modern styling
and beautiful original features such as the double vaulted ceilings. Situated on the first floor, it is the perfect
romantic retreat for a couple. The door opens onto the hallway with views over the Cathedral, and further door
leading to the open plan living room with sofabed and flat screen television, modern kitchen and a high bistrot
style table and chairs so that guests can enjoy breakfast with a view over the Cathedral and ancient sun-bleached
buildings. Original double doors lead to the bedroom which once again benefits from beautiful high double vaulted
ceilings, air conditioning and a balcony. The air conditioning can be reversed in winter for heating, making Chiara
equally suited to those who may want to visit out of season. The spacious bedroom has been decorated in cools creams
with a hint of colour here and there. The newly re-fitted bathroom leads off the hallway, and offers a good sized
shower cubicle as well as a washing machine and extra storage space.

The Citadel is the oldest part of Calvi and remains very unspoilt with
steep roads winding between high and impressive houses, so these apartments are not particularly suited to the
elderly or anyone with walking difficulties. However, there is so much to see and do in Calvi and the surrounding
areas, that many visitors tell us that a week is simply not long enough! The magnificent sandy beach with its wide
range of water sports and beachside cafes is an obvious attraction, but be sure to take time to discover the towns
and villages nearby either by car or using the little train that runs along the coast - an experience in itself!
The narrow streets behind the port are home to a variety of interesting boutiques and excellent restaurants, and
the bars lining the port are the perfect place to enjoy an aperitif before dinner whilst you listen to the sound
of the water gently lapping the yachts moored in the marina.

'Just had to email you to let you know what a fab week we had
in Corsica. The apartment was great - just a shame someone hasn’t thought to paint the cathedral wall! We were
especially impressed with the info on places to visit that I printed off and took with us – better than any guide
and felt more personal. We got around a fair bit only place we weren’t impressed with was St Florent and couldn’t
understand why we had seen it compared to St Tropez. Admittedly it was the worst weather day but the Calvi port,
that we loved, knocked it into a tin hat – as the saying goes! - as did the Citadel. I would also like to say thank
you for your absolutely faultless service – it was so personal. We will definitely visit again but whilst we loved
Calvi we have really explored the area, so next time will probably try the south east coast. Without a doubt we
will be using your services again and will also recommend you to anyone else we hear that wants to visit Corsica.
Keep up the good work.'
