Nestled up behind the village in an exclusive development known as the
Domaine de la Tour, the Villa de la Baie offers comfortable living rooms, great outdoors spaces and perhaps one
of the best views I have seen over the bay of Campomoro.
Access to the Domaine de la tour is restricted to pedestrians and residents which means that even in the busy summer
months, you'll be treated to the sound of birdsong rather than passing traffic. The house itself is set back amongst
trees and shrubs off a quiet cul-de-sac which is after the pathway to the tower so the location is perfect for
those who want to get away from it all, whilst still within easy reach of the village with its mini-mart, bars,
restaurants and water sports facilities.
The large rear terrace is the perfect place to while away the afternoon. There are wide stone banquettes with cushions
lining the edge of the terrace and a summer kitchen, so the present owners tell us that this is where they spend
most of their time. If the sun gets too hot, there are bamboo shades that roll across the wooden beams to provide
welcome shade if desired. Sliding patio doors lead into the main open plan living room with superb sea views. There
is a sitting area with fireplace, dining area large enough for a table for 6-8 people (or perhaps more!) and an
open plan kitchen so that the chef doesn't have to miss out.
Doors from the kitchen area lead onto the spacious terrace at the front of the house with far reaching sea views
over the bay of Campomoro. From here one has a panorama from the stunning tower on your left, right round the bay
to the main beach and village to the right. To the left as you enter the house is a spacious shower room with toilet
and a bedroom which also has access to the terrace, and just next to the kitchen is an extra space currently used
as an office.
There is a good sized above ground swimming pool just slightly to the side of the rear terrace which also enjoys
lovely view - what a way to while away a warm summers day.
Access to the lower part of the house is via external stairs, although it may be possible to integrate these into
the main part of the house. On this level are three bedrooms with the possibility of a fourth or an easy conversion
to a covered terrace or large ensuite bedroom. The first bedroom is accessed via a door from the terrace and leads
to the shared shower room and toilet. A door on the other side of the bathroom leads to the second bedroom which
also has independent access via the terrace. The third bedroom is located behind the second bedroom and access
to this room is via the second bedroom or via a door from what is currently used as a covered terrace area but
could easily be converted to extra living space as all electricity and water is in place ready to be connected.
The property offers plenty of storage space such as cupboards etc. inside the house, but also cellars and a garage
which is large enough for a car and perhaps an extra motorbike or small boat. The water is heated by solar power
with electrical backup, and the garden is fitted with a 'gout a gout' irrigation system. All in all, the property
comprises 2044m2 of land, some of which is fairly steeply terraced and habitable space of 135m2.

The village of Campomoro is popular with visitors and locals alike, and it is easy to see why; huge stretches of
golden sand, clear shallow turquoise waters, one of the largest and best preserved Genoese towers on the island
and a nice collection of little bars and restaurants lining the shore. From the villa, there is a pathway of approximately
300m to the beach which is much quieter in the peak season.
