In a quiet position just a few minutes walk from the bustling waterfront
town of Calvi and the superb sandy beach, the Studios Casa Vecchia are ideal for couples looking for an inexpensive
base from which to explore this beautiful area.
We are pleased to offer a variety of studios here; modern and traditional, some with sea views and some with garden
views. The owners have also provided a hairdryer, full sized kettle and an iron with small ironing board to make
your stay more comfortable.
| MODERN STUDIOS |
|
| Each studio comprises a large main room with double bed, a well equipped
kitchenette with two hob rings, microwave, toaster, cafetiere and fridge with ice box. Three of the modern studios
enjoy sea views and one has a view over the garden. Each has a shower room with washbasin and toilet. The studios
are simply but tastefully furnished in fresh whites with hints of colour here and there and offer good value for
money. An extra bed can be provided for a third person should you wish - see prices below. Outside there is a large
balcony with table and chairs so that you can eat alfresco. There is also a television should you ever tire of
the views. These studios are the ones featured in the photographs. |

| TRADITIONAL STUDIOS |
|
| Set within the grounds of the property are five ground floor, single storey
studios. These studios are more traditional in style, but are slightly larger (30m2) and the kitchen has been arranged
in an alcove which makes them feel more spacious still. Each has a shower room with washbasin and toilet. Outside
there is a terrace with table and chairs so that you can eat alfresco, and is surrounded by a natural Corsican
style garden planted with cactus and bamboo and prickly pears to name a but a few. There is also a television for
your convenience. These studios are more simple in style than the modern studios and are not pictured. CLICK HERE

Calvi is ideally suited to couples and families with its huge crescent of golden sand that stretches for over 5km,
the range of watersports and mountain activities on offer, and the charm and character of the town itself. There
is a good selection of bars and restaurants hidden among the narrow cobbled streets, and lining the port where
you can sample the local specialities, and the location of the Studios Casa-Vecchia makes it easy to wander into
the town in the evening, whilst you can still be sure of a good nights sleep when you return at night.
CASA CORSA at Casa Vecchia - 3 bedrooms, sleeps 2-8 people. For those who prefer a little bit of extra space,Casa
Corsa is a traditional style 3 bedroom house with gardens and views over the Citadel and the sea. For full details

'I have recently booked my sixth holiday at Casa Vecchia Studios,
so I guess you could say that I love the place, and know it pretty well! This simple, sea view apartment is owned
by Madame Marie Josee Orsoni but I have always dealt with her husband, Jean Marie, who speaks Englsh and is very
helpful and friendly. The tie up with Hotel Casa Vecchia is that the hotel is owned and run by Madame Orsoni's
mother and family, snd I always get a lovely welcome when I arrive each year. The studio apartment is on the second
floor and has a wonderful sea view. From the balcony you can see the mountains on the right, a fabulous view of
the sea, and the Citadel on the left. My partner has taken many glorious photos from the balcony as he is a keen
photographer, and we have spent countless evenings on the balcony, drinking the local wine and enjoying the glorious
view. The apartment is simply furnished but spotlessly clean and well equipped, and I'm delighted to report it
has a kettle, too, which is a bonus for Corsica. Apart from the glorious sea view, one of the main attractions
for me is that the apartment is so conveniently placed, within walking distance of Calvi centre. It is about one
minute's walk from Super U - very convenient for fresh bread or croissants each morning, and about five minute's
walk from the beautiful beach. It is also about 5 minute's walk from the old town and restaurants, so if you don't
want to drive in Calvi, then this is the ideal apartment for you. For those who do want to drive, then there is
ample parking in the grounds of the apartment. As the apartment block is tucked away, off the main roads, it is
pretty quiet. The only slight noise on some evenings is from the fooballers who play on a pitch nearby, but the
sound is not intrusive and the games do not go on until late in the evening. The apartment block is only three
floors high and is serviced by a reliable lift. May I suggest that you take a small pocket torch wth you in the
evening, if you are returning to the apartment late at night? It can be a little daunting to go through the ground
floor doors into total darkness and have to fumble for the light switch, but that is my only minor criticism. We
look forward to many more holidays in this apartment in the years to come.'
'We have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Casa Vecchia (modern) studios. This was our second holiday in
Calvi - we visited there for the first time about 7 years ago and stayed in a studio complex a little further out
of town from Casa Vecchia. The Casa Vecchia studios are accurately described as basic and good value for money
(especially in Calvi!) but there's nothing wrong with either. I was a bit nervous about booking as I couldn't find
any reviews of these properties on the web but the standard was good for a 'value' property and in fact there was
some additional extras that aren't mentioned in the description, eg hairdryer, full sized kettle (for all us tea-making
Brits) and an iron with small (Ikea) ironing board. I needn't therefore have included my travel kettle, hairdryer
and iron. The relationship between the Casa Vecchia Hotel and the Studios is a bit hazy but they are very separate
so you don't come into contact with the hotel (even although the hotel website has a link to the studios and they
do seem to share the same garden area). We were met by Jean Marie who was very helpful and extremely friendly.
He seems to manage the Casa Vecchia studios. We had booked quite late and therefore the only modern studio available
was the garden view one. We were perfectly happy there for 2 weeks so if there's no alternative then I wouldn't
be put off ...but if the chance is available then it is a MUST to book one of the apartments with the view over
to the Citadel and the bay. The photos on the website just do not do the view justice. It is fantastic. Jean Marie
was keen to let us see the view and it did make us quite envious of our neighbour. The garden view room looks towards
the bay and the Citadel but the view is completely blocked by a huge tree and other buildings. The location is
fantastic too - less than 5 mins walk to both the nearest supermarket (Super U) and to the beach and about 10 mins
into the town itself. Altogether, great location and good value for money accommodation. I would have no hesitation
in recommending it although would definitely say go for the modern top floor Citadel view. Thank you Sue and your
colleagues at Direct Corsica for your assistance and all the info prior to departure. I hear Thomson are still
doubting whether they will offer flights to Calvi from Gatwick next year which will be a real disappointment to
all the Calvi fans - a flight to Bastia with either a bus or train for non-drivers is not appealing ! Calvi is
a beautiful destination though so probably worth a bit more hassle to get there. Thanks again'
