In a large mature garden, nestled amongst the ancient olive trees, Villa
Carpe Diem is a comfortable family home, perfectly placed to take full advantage of the stunning Valinco coastline.
Just 200 metres walk from the beach, this house boasts a lovely terrace with views over the bay which opens onto
the main living room. Furnished in a fresh, contemporary style, the whitewashed walls and vibrant accent colours
add to the Mediterranean feel of the house. The main living area is comfortably furnished and there is satellite
television (French only), video and DVD for your added pleasure. The thoughtful owners have also added equipment
to allow you to view digital photos through the television, so if you don't want to venture out in the evening,
you can relive the days activities.
The separate kitchen is well equipped with all the facilities one would
expect of a modern holiday home including full oven, ceramic hob, fridge-freezer, washing machine and dishwasher.
The terrace has been equipped with a table and chairs together with an electric table barbecue, but should you
prefer to eat inside, there is also a dining area with wooden table and chairs.
The three bedrooms each have a king-size bed, and there is a shower room
with washbasin and a separate toilet also with handbasin. Click HERE

Outside there is a large Jacuzzi / hot-tub which can be heated from 26
to 40 degrees, so ideal if you plan to visit in early or late season, or in the summer if you want somewhere quiet
to chill out. Measuring 2.2 x 2.2m in size, there is plenty of room for 5-6 people. What could be better than sitting
out in the evening whilst the many adjustable jets massage and relax you - simply heavenly! For 2008, the owners
will add another sun terrace below the house amongst the maritime pines and here will be installed an outdoor misting
system which sprays very fine mists of water to cool the air temperature. Popular on the Cote d'Azur, this is the
only property we have that features this system which is a real bonus during the hot summer months.
One of the biggest attractions of the area is surely the superb beaches where the sparkling blue waters offer a
striking contrast to the warm golden yellow of the sand. Huge granite boulders act as natural dividers, and children
will love catching the little fish that make their home in the resulting rock pools. This collection of intimate
coves and picturesque sandy beaches stretching along the coastline between Propriano and Abbartello is backed by
a maquis covered hillside, and boasts some of the best views of the bay.
However, the beaches are only part of the story, and the valinco has a lot more to offer visitors from the intriguing
pre-historic site at Filitosa, to Sartene, the most Corsican of Corsican towns, and Propriano's bustling waterfront
marina where you can sample some of the fresh fish caught that morning whilst watching the sun set over the bay.
The captivating village of Olmeto was once a favourite spot with artists such as Edward Lear, and it is easy to
see why.
Corsica is a wild island full of natural beauty, and Serge and Patricia
are keen to do everything possible to protect the environment against the ravages of tourism, so that future visistors
can continue to live in harmony with the 'island of beauty' and enjoy the unspoilt surroundings. To this end, they
use only environmentally friendly products in the house and the garden. The house is cleaned, and the linen is
washed, in products made from essential oils of orange, lemons and lavendar so that no chemicals are used. The
bedrooms and wardrobes are delicately fragranced by cedar wood balls infused with eucalyptus and pine oils which
also help to keep the moths away. Conscious that being green can sometimes be costly, a full range of enviromentally
friendly cleaning products are provided as well as a recycling unit which they encourage guests to use and they
will empty for you to save you the trouble.
The friendly owners are based in Corsica, and speak four languages including
English.
Winter Holidays
- The house has a large fireplace making it an ideal choice for winter holidays or longer lets outside of the main
season when the large Jacuzzi / hot-tub which can be heated to 40 degrees which means that it can be used throughout
the year. Please ask for details.
