Tucked away amongst the chestnut trees and cork oaks, Olmi Cappella is
a charming and friendly village, full of character. It is here that Antonia Fratacci, previous owner and chef at
La Tornadia, a well known local restaurant, has created four en-suite rooms in her house to offer as 'chambres
d'hotes', or bed and breakfast.
Antonia offers just 4 bedrooms in total, some with double bed and others
with a double and single bed to allow for more flexible sleeping or a third person to share. The house, a traditional
old Corsican house and one of the largest in the village, is peacefully situated with its own large fruit and vegetable
garden spreading out beneath and beyond. On warm sunny days, breakfast is served on the terrace overlooking the
garden and mountains. The villages are just as appealing outside of the main season, and for cooler months breakfast
is served in the covered veranda which enjoys the same lovely views.
Antonia has taken a great deal of care to ensure that guests really get
the most from their holidays, and guests will find lots of little touches that can really make a difference. There
is a large salon area with confortable seating furniture where guests can socialise and relive the days adventures,
or simply relax and unwind with a magasine or book - a selection are provided. The rooms are comfortable and traditionlly
furnished in keeping with the house itself, but the shower rooms all enjoy modern facilities and are equipped with
hair-dryers.
There is a restaurant and a 'table d'hote' within walking distance where
you can experience sumptuous home cooked meals prepared with fresh local produce according to the season.
One of the real treats for anyone staying in the village is the chance
to go walking with Donkeys. Dominique Boyer in the village has a number of Donkeys for hire, and whether you are
a couple, or a family with children, it really is an experience not to be missed! There are a number of different
trails you can follow, and Dominique will suggest the most suitable according to your party although the donkeys
may have their own ideas
For a little extra, Antonia can often make you a copious picnic for your excursion, and
you can be sure it will be delicious! For more information about Walking with Donkeys,

The Giussani is one of Corsica's best-kept secrets - a lush valley
covered in chestnut trees and cork oaks, ringed by mountains, dotted with old villages and criss-crossed by ancient
footpaths and bridleways, yet only 35 minutes' easy drive from the nearest beach. Here you will find a relaxed,
peaceful lifestyle. Olmi Cappella is the main village in the area. Access to the centre of the island - Ponte Leccia,
Corte, Vizzavona - is easy, making it an ideal base to explore Corsica.
A wonderful opportunity to experience authentic Corsican village life. To help you get the most from your holiday,
we have put together four walks that start from Antonia's - click HERE for details.

'Hi Claire, Just a line to say how much we enjoyed Corsica.Everything
was organised to a tee !! Thanks. Olmi Cappella was incredible; Antonia was full of smiles and charm and her breakfasts
were superb, with a beautiful view of snow capped mouintains from her terrace. The walks were well planned and
indicated and available from the very grand Mairie to the north of the village and we always got the makings of
a good picnic from the local libre service. No mobile reception,,,, Paradise'
'We really enjoyed our holiday in Corsica. It's an incredible
island and perfect for a honeymoon! We had lots of day-long walks in idyllic forests, by rivers, through lovely
villages and all without bumping into many other people. Our stay in Antonia's was particularly special. She and
Francois went all out to make us welcome and cooked the most amazing meals including their precious wine from 1974!!
They were perfect hosts and it felt more like staying with a special uncle and aunt rather than a B&B! Thanks
again for all your help with the arrangements.'
'I just wanted to thank you for all your help with our Corsica
trip. You were absolutely right - it was magical!!! We fell in love with the island and spending our first three
days with Antonia set the tone for the entire trip. She was fantastic as was her husband. I must admit when we
first pulled up to Olmi Capella I wasn't sure what we were getting into but the minute Antonia cooked for us, we
were enchanted. We loved every minute and are even dreaming about having a house there someday. Thank you so much.'
Just wanted to say our stay at Antonia's was fabulous! In particular
the birthday dinner - please make sure Antonia passes on our thanks to the ladies who cooked for us. The food and
wine were exceptional - and I HAVE to get the recipe for the birthday cake; a divine pear cake with chocolate icing.
Olmi Capella was gorgeous (as was Antonia - complete with curlers in her hair!!). Thank you!'
'We've been back 2 weeks, and I just thought I'd let you know
we had a lovely time with Antonia (and Francois, her husband). Olmi Cappelli was delightful, even if we found the
road there a little 'challenging' - precipitous with Corsicans hurtling around hairpin bends!! I was so glad we
took a chance and found this quite 'out-of-the-way' place, though I suspect there would be more remote places in
Corsica. Antonia was a lovely host, very relaxed and welcoming. The house had lovely views - to snowcapped mountains,
while it was 30 degrees. So, thanks for your help, and perserverence.'
