Most people taking their holidays in Corsica will hire a car, even if it's just for a few days as you will get so much more out of your holiday. We have always found to provide good value for money and excellent service on the rare occasion there has been a problem (normally of our own making!). Cars can be collected from any of the Corsican airports; Calvi, Bastia, Ajaccio and Figari, and also from some town offices. Driving yourself around the island really is the best way to explore and although the roads are more narrow and mountainous than we are used to in the UK, the main routes are generally in a better state of repair, and the traffic is much lighter. Avis can also provide a variety of extras such as baby seats (6 months and over), booster seats and SUPERCOVER which covers the excess usually charged by hire companies in the even of any damage to the car or theft (between 600-1600 euros depending on the grade - click HERE for details).
